Product Handling

It is assumed that you are trained in hazard risks and safety procedures for handling the products listed. If you are not, purchasing from our store is not recommended. Please refer to OSHA guidance on hazard safety. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for further instructions on who our products are intended to serve.

Product Shelf

We provide proper storage instructions on each product listing and on product labels for each product.

My product was exposed to extreme high or low temperatures, will it be okay?

Every molecule decomposes at a unique rate and process. To provide a general understanding, let’’s think about the universe. A fundamental and simple truth about the universe is that disorder, characterized as a quantity known as entropy, always increases. This is the second law of thermodynamics.

The molecules in our products are always degrading; becoming more disordered, at a very slow rate. Over a long enough time horizon, it will reach a point where there is a measurable decrease in potency. With adequate handling and storage, this can take years. But changing the temperature of storage will affect the rate of degeneration.

  1. If a product is exposed to lower than recommended temperatures there will be no increase in rate of decay, though a solution product may precipitate (turn into a solid), and lose its consistency.
  2. If a product is exposed to higher than recommended temperatures, the rate of degradation will speed up. Let’s say a product requires storage at room temperature, and is exposed to 115°F for a few days, then there will be an increase in the rate of degradation. But this may not be measurable unless you had exposed to 115°F for a prolonged period, such as several months. So one could leave the product in the heat for a few days and if properly stored after, then the shelf life can still be multiple years.

If a product requires extreme cold temperatures storage, such as –20°C, then the risk of measurable loss of potency from high temperature exposure depends on the level, duration, and presence of other factors such as sunlight, oxygen, and moisture. These other factors produce free radicals. A free radical can be defined as an atom or molecule containing one or more unpaired electrons in valency shell or outer orbit and is capable of independent existence. The odd number of electron(s) of a free radical makes it unstable, short lived and highly reactive. (Ref: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4310837/#:~:text=A%20free%20radical%20can%20be,short%20lived%20and%20highly%20reactive.) [need to fix]

Free radicals can break chemical bonds and accelerate decay. That said, less than 24 hours of temperatures humans can bear should not degrade any products we carry to the point that they are no longer effective.

My solution has flakes, precipitation, is cloudy, is it okay?

Solution products can crystallize, precipitate, separate and form layers, or lose homogeneity in several ways. The most common cause is temporary exposure to low temperature. If you notice this issue, you can try running the bottle under warm water (50-70°C) for 5-10 minutes and then shaking with force to re-suspend and re-solve.

What form do your peptides arrive in?

Our peptides are supplied in lyophilized powder form to ensure stability and prevent accelerated decay. The optimal storage for these products is below -20°C, although refrigeration at 4°C is adequate for up to 2 years. These peptides can maintain potency at room temperature for 4-6 weeks without significant degeneration if kept safe from direct sunlight, which ensures their integrity during transit. They are packaged in glass crimp top vials.

My peptide has less powder than before?

Peptide integrity and potency remain unaltered regardless of their physical form post-lyophilization. Variations in visual presentation, including size differences due to necessary buffering in larger proteins, are common and do not compromise the quality of the peptide.

Why does my product look/seem different than last time?

Polymorphism in chemistry is the condition in which a solid chemical substance can exist in numerous crystalline forms. Imagine you are given a set of legos. You can make various structures with the same set of legos. Several factors influence polymorphism, including pressure and reactants during synthesis, as well as rate of change of temperature. If you notice a difference between batches of product, this is likely due to polymorphism.

Why does my product say not for human consumption?

Our products are not approved for medical use or for the treatment, prevention, diagnosis, or cure of any disease or illness. In addition to being unsuited and unsafe for human consumption, they are not approved for sale to, or possession by, anyone other than someone qualified to handle them in a laboratory setting. It is for research purposes only.

Miscellaneous

Why was I added to the no-sell list? (blacklist)

We sell products that are explicitly sold for laboratory research purposes only. As a company who sells laboratory research products, we are obligated to monitor and reject orders to individuals who may use our products for reasons outside of the intended purposes. If you have been added to this list, our management has reason to believe that you are using our products outside of the intended purposes listed.

When will I receive an email back from support?
