Description
Sodium 4-Phenylbutyrate, 100g
(Sodium 4-Phenylbutyrate, SPB, PBNa, 4PBA, 4-Phenylbutyrate, Na, BCKD Kinase Inhibitor I, Branched-Chain α-Ketoacid Dehydrogenase Kinase Inhibitor I, BDK Inhibitor I)
A novel agent with anti-cancer properties and the ability to regulate transcription. It promotes tumor cell growth arrest and differentiation. Additionally, it enhances the production of fetal hemoglobin both in laboratory settings and in living organisms.
This anti-cancer compound exhibits strong differentiating effects across various hematopoietic and solid tumor cell lines. It serves as a promoter of tumor cell growth arrest and differentiation, as well as stimulating peroxisomal proliferation. Compared to its structural counterparts, including 2- and 3-phenylbutyrate, it is a more effective inhibitor of histone deacetylase and a stronger inducer of histone acetylation. Furthermore, it functions as a transcriptional regulator, improving the targeting of δF508-CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) for ubiquitination and degradation by decreasing HSC70 expression in epithelial cells. It has also been shown to boost fetal hemoglobin production in both in vitro and in vivo studies.
